Lt is...

... not happy. It seems he does not care for his re-elected boss. He makes silly statements of others voting choice and intelligence level. He does this only at home (I hope!).

I have not been a citizen long. I watched the last election. I voted in this one. My candidate did not win. I remain thrilled for having voted. Some do not realize what a privilege it is because they have always had it. I am not one of those.

I came from a country that I had no voice of who would be the country's leaders. If I am honest, I had no voice in most things. There have been experiments of the people voting. For instance, one may vote for their village chief. But in the end, it is the party who decides who will be elected. Near 3000 seats in the National People's Congress are available. There are 9 parties and some independent. The Communist Party holds all the available seats because it is they who decide who is eligible to fill them. In China, we did not wait with bated breath to see what party it was that acquired a seat. It would be the CPC.

 I know it has always stunned me that so many neglect such a gift as Americans enjoy. I believe it would be difficult for anyone who has always had something to fully understand a life without it.  It is not so hard for one who did not have it for most of her life. A voice in my government is one of the most precious gifts my country has given me.

I remind Lt of his privilege to safeguard their right to a voice. As a commentator said, "Everyone has the right to be wrong now and then." ;-)
