... Sigh...

There will be no visit home this year. :-(

Return to school approaches quickly and Lt's ship will not depart soon enough to give sufficient time to visit those at home.

I looked forward to the visit but there is always next year. Complaining of it will not change it. It is one of those things I have chosen by choosing to marry Lt. What is it I have to complain of? I have a loving husband and an adorable son. I am pursuing education in a field I enjoy. I teach others the joy of music by teaching them to create it. I live in a beautiful place that is not so much different from my home. I now have more time to plan and prepare properly for next year.

Besides, next year Lt may be able to accompany me. He will have leave time to use. :-)

I Love Reading

I love reading the blogs I have discovered through various blog hops and on my own. I often read in wonder the ease with which the authors seem to write, making even the simple things so interesting.

I do not write so easily. I stare at the large blank canvass that is my blog post editor and I must struggle to fill it. What in my life could be of interest?

I suppose I could tell you of my research of new ways to ensure data privacy and security. I have a plentiful supply of information waiting to be written into a dissertation. Anyone? No? So much for that subject.

Or I could tell you of each of my days but soon there would be no reason to visit here since each would be the same as the day before... usually.

I could write of each day with Little One but how much of poopy diapers and vomit is permitted? To be sure I know reaching milestones is an appropriate subject. For instance, Lo is beginning to pull himself about on the floor. Perhaps I could purchase this outfit for him and save myself work. To damp mop I would only need to put water on the floor now and then. Too much?

I could write of the adventures of Lt. What he does and where he goes. No... OPSEC rules that subject. As Lt has told me at several occasions, "There is a reason the ship is not often written of."

I suppose I could write of make-up... if I wore any. I am one who must ask how to use it so that would not be a subject for me to write of. If you too ask questions of use, visit Elle at Elle Sees.

It seems I will continue to struggle to find subjects to write of. Be patient please. Perhaps I will have good fortune and discover a subject I may regularly discuss with some level of knowledge. :-)

Umm...

Between caring for Little One and readying for my visit home, I find myself searching for something interesting to write about.

Little One has done nothing out of the ordinary. He eats and sleeps. He progresses as is expected though it seems he will have his father's height. He is larger than his contemporaries. He is 29 inches and 22 pounds at only 6 months. The doctor says he is the size of a one year old. The only unusual event for him has been his illness but who wishes to hear of seemingly endless stream of poopy diapers.

I have discovered my playing is acceptable to Lo... so far. Is it only me that is sometimes intimidated by an infant that pays close attention when his mother plays? The faces he makes to me sometime seem as if he is closely listening and identifying every mistake so he is able to critique me when he learns to speak. He intently watches the bow as it moves across the strings as if he waits for his opportunity to shout, "AHA! That was not done properly!"

Lt is... well... Lt. He works, he plays with Lo, and sees to my needs too. We are happy even as summer cruise approaches.

Lt did ask me when we were going to be pregnant again. (°_o) Really? Of course, I desire at the least one more child (preferably a daughter this time). But so soon? I told him we could have another right away but he will be required to be the pregnant one. If that is not acceptable for him, he will have to wait for a time. I will likely be ready when Lo is more independent than he is now.

For me, I am keeping occupied with raising Lo, loving Lt,  teaching violin, and doing research for my thesis. I could not fantasize a better life. Well... maybe one that Lt has permanent shore duty but then he would be unhappy. Well... wait... this would be my fantasy so he would LOVE shore duty! (I did say it was a fantasy.)

I suppose I will enjoy this life as best I can. It is not a difficult one though it does have it's frustration occasionally. But if it did not have occasional difficulty I would not appreciate the more abundant happy times as much.

Enjoy your week as much as I am sure to enjoy mine! :-)
