We have survived!

My balcony got wet. There are some limbs scattered about. Compared to Okinawa we experienced a light breeze.

I did enjoy TCCOR 1. The ship was made fast (whatever that is) and Lt was deemed "non-essential personnel." That means we stayed at home together wrapped in a blanket watching the TV to see what was occurring elsewhere. It was an enjoyable time together.

We did have a visitor for a time. It seems a young man was not obedient as he should be to his parents and was caught outside at TCCOR 2. The young man did not live close so Tammy asked if he could stay with us until arrangements could be made to bring him to his home. I agreed.

The young man arrived at my door looking much like Yuki when she had her outdoor adventure. He was wet and cold. His name is Shane. He could not remain this way so I ordered him to the bathroom for a hot shower and his clothes to be laundered. One would think I demanded he run naked about the base! Eventually Lt convinced him of the wisdom of my plan and he complied. But only after Lt had provided him with a robe.

After his clothes were washing I phoned his mother to tell her of his well being and what was being done. Her voice was with fear at first. Upon hearing her son was well and being cared for she seemed to mix joy and anger. She did laugh well when told of her son's reaction to my commands.

I believe Lt will be a wonderful father. As Shane emerged from the bathroom, Lt inquired if he was indeed well. After hearing he was Lt began to speak to him of his actions. He told him of his mother's fear when he was not home in this storm. He spoke to him of resources that were required to see to him that were needed elsewhere. Lt spoke with such care and wisdom, I could not help but become weepy as I watched. Our son will have a wonderful father.

Eventually, and before TCCOR 1 was declared, security arrived to take a freshly cleaned and well fed young man to his mother. I made him promise me to not give his mother such fear again but he was also welcome to return should he wish to visit.

Shane's mother phoned this morning. He will not have the opportunity to visit anyone for a week. He is grounded. I hoped I helped shorten his time by a little when I told her of his good behavior and excellent manners. I suspect not. There is a lesson to be taught and from what I have seen of Shane, they do not shirk in their responsibility of it. He is a good boy that made a mistake and now must see consequence.

  2. I believe I have taken care of it now. If not I do not know what to do for it.

  3. You both will be great parents. Shane is lucky to have found such kind shelter in the storm :)
