… it helps organize my thoughts and it informs my friends of my doings.
I began blogging elsewhere and the primary purpose for beginning was to express frustrations. Being a new immigrant, there were many things I did not understand or was unsure of. Most were a result of my poor English.
It was also easier to explain myself since at my keyboard I am able to take time to find my words without those who are listening becoming impatient. Usually I would be found with a Chinese/English dictionary feverishly searching for words. I was not always successful since it is more difficult to translate a thought than to translate a word. I would say it was my way of learning better English faster.
After moving to my current blog site some who found me by accident seemed interested enough to continue reading. They were patient with my English and helped me wherever they could. As they helped, they expressed interest in what I did from day to day so I began posting my daily activities.
I continue to write because I have friends who remain interested. Some have ended their own blogs for many reasons but they continue to stop and visit mine. Even should they cease their visits, I will continue to write. It helps me sort my life. I am able to write and revisit to see if it remains the best thought.
Keep writing! It's good to get your thoughts down on "paper". :)
