Halloween

Another Halloween gone. Another year of carefully doling out candy until the next year. Given the activities sponsored all over the base and the traditional door-to-door candy hunting, there is always a huge stockpile of candy that must be kept under lock and key.

There were so many groups contributing to the day. There were multiple groups sponsoring "Trunk-or-Treats" set ups. There was candy everywhere. We even had  a group sponsor a haunted hike.

It was much like a haunted house except it was outside. There are parts of the base I will never look at the same way again. Lol People would jump from blind places to scare you then give children candy. As we rounded one corner, A lady jumped out to scare us. June’s response? She dropped her bag of treats and shouted with fists raised, “I will boop you!” I do not know if it was bravery or her fear rooting her in place but, she remained between the lady and me while her brother jumped away from her clutching his bag. I suppose we women should stick together since sons have candy bags to protect.

It was a good day. Tiring, but good. When we got home, we ate supper, watched a movie, and jumped online for a chat with Jared. I believe they slept as well as I did.

The first request this morning was "Can we have a piece of candy?"
