It has been an exciting day! The wind blew hard. The rain fell as hard. There was even ice and thunder! Peevy was quite upset. How strange it is that someone as small as I am occaisionally required to calm an animal as large as Peevy.
Cherry almost lost her dam from the abundant rain. We spent several frantic hours placing sandbags and pipes along the top. One would have been sure that 2 6 inch pipes could effectively release water well enough to prevent overflow. As is common, it is a small creek with only a trickle of water enough to water horses and cows. Today, that was an incorrect assumption. The water rose quickly and made the pipes to look as spigots turned fully on! Another day I have looked as a near drowned rat. Cherry and I sat for some time drinking hot tea before the fireplace laughing at each other for our appearance, all wet and muddy. I am unsure still if all the mud is cleaned from my hair.
As a child, I would not have realized living away from the city would be so... interesting... at different times.
Its been wild weather, that's for sure!! Glad you saved the dam :)
