I continue to ask when June will finally grow out of these things she says.
Because she did not want to go to her room to change her clothes, this exchange occurred:
June: Mom, can you use your big body to block people from seeing me?
Me: Excuse me?.
June: What? I said big, not fat.
She still asks very random questions that surprise me:
June: Mom, is there a big peanut statue around here?
Me: No. I do not believe so.
June: What? Why would there not be a big peanut statue around here?
Me: Why would there be?
June: Because everyone loves peanuts!
Who among us has not misheard a word or phrase? Chao lei was playing a video game. Something
about a bridge was frustrating him. June felt the need to inform me of his choice of language despite me having heard clearly what he said.
June: Mom. Chao lei said the s-o-t word.
Me: What is the s-o-t word?
June: You know. The bad one. S-o-t.
Me, (still not understanding.): What?
June: BITCH! He said BITCH!
Me (now understanding): June. He said BRIDGE.
Truth be told, the entire outburst that compelled June to tell me was "Stupid bridge!" for which Chao lei was informed stupid is not an appropriate word for him to use; even for a bridge.
