I have binge watched “Ted Lasso” again. I really enjoy the show. I even get most of the jokes. This show is responsible for many discoveries about myself.
The most disturbing discovery is I am able to dislike a person because of a role they perform in a show. Nick Mohammed is the victim of my whim. He plays “Nate Shelley” in the show. When I saw him in a different show, I instantly disliked him and by extension his character. I know he is an actor playing a role. I know the character is not real.
Is it a sign that Nick Mohammed is an excellent actor that he can make me dislike his character so? I scowl just because he appeared. If he speaks, I grit my teeth. Nate’s arrogance after having been such a timid, self-doubting start infuriates me. I cannot help but wish doom and failure on him.
I know some have no idea who I am speaking of. All I can suggest is for you to watch the show for yourself. What I wonder is, am I the only person to do as I am doing; disliking a person because of a character they play on tv?
See how strange I am? This disturbs me enough that I post about it.
I haven't watched Ted Lasso yet! Does this mean I'm missing out?!
ReplyDeleteYes! You are missing a very good show. There are currently two seasons to binge watch with a third coming soon (I hope).
