It was a good weekend for us. We decided to invest the day in a longer hike that we had avoided because of its length. It is 11 miles end to end. Our goal was to complete the hike and return ìn one day. With Chao lei in tow and June on Jared's back we set off.
It is an easy hike that follows the shore of Tokyo Bay with the occasional departure from the shoreline. The times it wanders from the shore the are convenient shops where one may but refreshments. That would have been better known before we left. Some weight could have been left at home.
Since it is a well maintained path with much of it paved, it is an easy hike. One may even be inclined to call it just a walk. But it is at least a long walk.
I forgot my camera and phone so I will have to post pictures later since Jared left yesterday and took his phone with him so he has the pictures with him.
Chao lei seemed... ok... with the hike. There was too little exploring for his tastes. It seems he does not share my pleasure of only walking along the shore. He insist or next hike be more interesting for him. Still, Jared and I arrived home with many treasures in our pockets.
June seemed more thrilled. She tended to kick and make more noise when something caught her interest. Chao lei helped with that by bringing things he thought she would enjoy. We did have to caution him a few times to mind what he brought to her. Petals from what flowers there were could easily end up in June's mouth.
I believe it was a good day for us. Even if it would have been a bad hike, we were outside. That is better than being inside.
11 miles! Wow, Mei! Great job to all of you. I'm so glad you were able to get out and enjoy this time together as a family. Is Jared gone for another underway?
ReplyDeleteThe ship is home... for now. There are no major trips on the schedule until spring ai we will have plenty of time together for now.
